One neat thing I see on the web, is a list of the software and hardware that a lot of developers and technical people use. Here's my basic set of tools:

• Osprey Metron: I went around in circles trying to decide what I wanted to use, and after a lot of thought, I ended up here. Built-in rain cover, plenty of space for accessories, padded laptop sleeve, and even a separate place to store shoes, it's a nice option if I ever get to the point that I commute by bike.
