About me

I've been working in the IT industry in various roles now for just over 20 years now, doing everything from phone support to managing teams that keep the data flowing and the phones ringing. I did get a few degrees along the way, my Associate's of Applied Science from Guilford Technical Community College focused in Network Administration and Support and a Bachelor's of Science, Business Administration from Western Carolina University focused in Business Computer Information Systems and a minor in Applied Criminology.

Even with those, tech is one of the few industries out there that you can get into without having a college degree. Sure, it'll make working for a larger company a lot easier, but it's very possible to go either the certifications route to prove what you know, or you can build a portfolio of your work that shows pretty quickly what you can do.

In technology, my interests are around security, policy, and data. Outside work and tech, you'll probably find me either in the kitchen cooking something new, out on a trail exploring, or down in my basement workshop building or making something.
